Membership is open to anyone interested in the growth of
lesbian and gay writers, literature, and publishers. Members come from
all walks of life: book and magazine writers, editors, agents,
marketing, sub-rights, publicity and sales people, booksellers,
designers, librarians, and general book lovers. Annual dues are $40 and
are tax-deductible as a business expense. The benefits to membership
are: discounts to events, nominating and voting privileges for the
Triangle Awards, and the knowledge that you are supporting the Triangle
in its efforts to promote lesbian and gay literature.
We offer three categories of membership. All members receive
discounts to events and are eligible to nominate candidates for the
Bill Whitehead Award for Lifetime Achievement and the Whitehead judging
panel. All members have the satisfaction of knowing that they are
supporting the Triangle in its efforts to promote lesbian and gay
literature.
Our basic membership is $40 per year. Couples living together
whom we are eligible for our family membership at $70 per year (we look
forward to the day when gay marriage is legal in all 50 states!). These
members are eligible to nominate one book annually for the Triangle's
other literary awards for free, waiving the customary $25 entrance fee.
The Publishing Triangle is a registered 501-c-6 organization; dues are
not deductible as a charitable expense. Consult your accountant on how,
under certain circumstances, dues and other payments to the Triangle
are deductible.
Publishers are encouraged to join at our corporate rate, $85
per year; member publishers may then nominate a fixed number of books
for the literary awards (see the submission instructions for the
current year's awards cycle), again, waiving the entrance fee. One
individual or department should be listed as the principal contact with
a corporate membership.
